Friday Night Arts Series: November 12th, 7 pm Michael Byers, Local Author

This Friday evening at 7 pm, local author Michael Byers will be reading from his latest works including Percival's Planet.

Michael Byers' first book, The Coast of Good Intentions, was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award, won the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and garnered a Whiting Writer's Award. Long for This World won the annual fiction prize from Friends of American Writers and was a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. Both were New York Times Notable Books.

Please join us at the Mighty Good Cafe, 217 N. Main St., for the first of our Friday Night Arts Series events featuring great guests, conversation, tasty deserts and Mighty Good Coffee.

New Coffee Arrivals

Honduran Organic We have two new coffees in stock this month. The first is a single estate organic Honduran, Flor del Pino. The name of this sun-dried coffee reflects the abundant variety of shade trees on the plantation that support a rich wildlife under which the coffee is grown. Produced using a variety of sustainable practices from patio drying to recycling the water used to wash the coffee at the mill.

Also new is Colombian El Pital - Huila (region). Smooth, well balanced and nutty, this is a great limited offering for those of you who love fine Colombian coffee.

Mighty Good Goods

As we approach the season of giving, our cafe is filling up with items to be given. From Bodum, Chemex, Clever, Aeropress and Freiling, we have a wide variety of brewing devices for the home brewing enthusiast. We also have copies of The Perfect Cappuccino Movie for home entertainment. (We'll be showing this movie at one of our future Friday Night Arts Series). Mighty Good Coffee mugs and t-shirts are also available. Last, on the non-coffee side, we are stocking Dirt Road Washtenaw, a book on bicycling the back roads around Ann Arbor, written by local author Rob Pulcipher. Dirt Road Washtenaw is an adventure. It explores over 700 miles of dirt roads in this county. That's nearly half of all the county's roads. Most of them are unique, relatively quiet and often beautiful. This book shares 17 routes with detailed maps that cover the entire county and wander through every township.

Home Delivery Schedule

You may see us running around town in our new delivery vehicle, the economical Ford Transit Connect. After much research and deliberation, this seemed to be the most mighty car for Mighty Good Coffee. We also want to mention that home and other Web orders will be going out for delivery on Tuesday and Friday mornings. This change will still honor our 24 hour roasting guarantee. We are having to stop late night deliveries on Monday and Thursday based on a revised roasting schedule as well as honoring the demands of our driver(s) who have always been students first and in the case of our newest driver, fathers of young children. If you have any questions about our home delivery, please feel free to contact us at sales at mightygoodcoffee dot com.
